The feature is created, written, and narrated by Tony Michaels, a Missouri writer, broadcaster, and publisher. Raised on a farm outside Eldon and now based in Jefferson City, Tony draws inspiration from small-town life, family memories, work, history, and the everyday people and places that reflect the American experience.

His storytelling is rooted in a simple belief: Americans can recognize themselves in one another before politics makes them strangers. Rather than approaching America through partisan politics, A Front Porch Story focuses on the values and experiences that connect us—citizenship, dignity, liberty, responsibility, community, and constitutional self-government.
